What is the koebner phenomenon?
Skin lesions appearing on trauma lines
When can psoriasis affect?
Skin, nails and joints
What can be the triggers of psoriasis?
Bacterial pharyngitis, HIV infection, psychological stress, beta blockers, lithium
Atopic dermatitis is most common in which population group??
Children

Name the 5 other types of eczema?
Discoid (circular oval patches)
Contact
Varicose (lower legs affects, blood flow problems)
Seborrhoeic - red scaly patches over head and scalp, dandruff
Dyshidrotic - blisters across the palms of the hands
What is Bullous pemphigoid?
Acute or chronic autoimmune skin disease
Formation of blisters between the epidermis and dermis
What type of hypersensitivity reaction is this?
Type II
What rash shows with systemic sclerosis?
Isolated hardened patches of skin
No integral organ involvement
Is urticaria acute or chronic?
Both!
It can clear within 6 weeks but can last much longer. Like over many years
What rash is associated with lupus?
Butterfly rash across the cheeks and nose
Describe a cellulitis infection
Staph, bacteria get into the skin and spread
What could be the cause of skin lesions near the lips?
Impetigo
Highly contagious and can be found anywhere on the body
Where would a pilonidal cyst be found??
At the coccyx
What is ring worm caused by?
Not a worm! A fungi called dermatophytes
