Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS) Syndrome. Note that symptoms typically present 2-8 weeks after exposure to new drug. The classic drug is allopurinol, but more common instigating agents in pediatrics are aromatic anti-epileptics (Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, Lamotrigine, Oxcarbazepine, Phenobarbital, and antibiotics (including vancomycin, sulfa drugs and anti-tuberculars).
