PSORIASIS
Itchy , scaly , demarcated pink / red elevated plaques with associated white / silvery scales
SEEN onextensor surfaces like Elbows , knees AND scalp
They flare up during throat infections
T/t :
First line
1) Topical Steroids
2)Emolients
3) Vitamin D
Second Line
PUVA
Types of psoriasis
Plaque : Large
Guttate : Small like rain drops ( doesnt require any t/t only reassurance )
DRUGS CAUSING PSORIASIS
- ACE inhibitors ( captopril , enalapril , ramipril )
- Lithium
ATOPIC DERMATITIS OR ECZEMA
ERYTHEMA
Erythema Multiformi : MULTIPLE Targeted lesions
Erythema Migrans : SINGLE targeted lesion but rapidly growing
Eythema Nodosum : Tender nodule over Shin
Erythema Marginatum : Jone’s criteria Joint paint cardiomyopathy and pink rings on the thighs and torso.
Erythema Infectiosum : Slapped cheek appereance spearing nasolabial folds common in children
Erythema Ab Lgne : Elderly closer to heat sitting
