A chronic, inflammatory disease characterized by skin and/or mucosal lesions. Skin lesions are characterized by the 5P’s (planar, polygonal, pruritic, purple papules, and plaques). Involvement of the oral mucosa manifests as reticular white lines (Wickham striae).
