Criterion A
A. 5+ symptoms during majority of menstrual cycles present during the week before onset of menses. Symptoms begin to improve within a few days upon onset of menses and become minimal/absent after menses
Criterion B (4)
B. 1+ of the following symptoms:
- Changes in mood (mood swings, suddenly sad or tearful, sensitivity, etc.)
- Irritability, anger, or increased interpersonal conflict
- Depressed mood, hopelessness, self-deprecating thoughts
- Anxiety, tension, feeling on edge
Criterion C (7)
C. 1+ of the following additional symptoms:
- Loss of interest in usual activities
- Difficulty concentrating
- Lack of energy/easily fatigued
- Changes in appetite, overeating, specific cravings
- Hypersomnia/insomnia
- Overwhelmed or out of control
- Physical symptoms: breast tenderness/swelling, joint/muscle pain, bloating, weight gain
