What does Kant refer to when he talk about duty?
In deontology there is a focus on reason and rational principes. This is what Kant refers to as duties.
What is the categorical imperative?
The categorical imperative is the one single moral duty that humans should follow.
What are the two question for the “Universalization test”, and what is the use of it?
The single duty that humans should follow is developed from 2 questions.
1. What kind of actions can be templetes for universal laws?
What motive is good in itself (and not for some extrisic goal)?
According to Kant, what makes an action good?
An action becomes good if the motive of the action is the good will. The goof steams from a sense of duty. Something is a goo will just because it is done out of duty and not for some extension reason.
