IMPERATIVE- definition is something that should be done.
catogorical- this is the idea that it trelles us what we ought to do, kant argued thast morality is perscriptive and moral statements are catogorical in the fact that they perscribe actions in represpective of the result, they are moral obligations. eg. do not kill.

IMPERATIVE- defintion is somthing that must be done.
hypothetical- meaning it is a moral command that is conducted on personal desire, however knat beleived that this is too telological and selfish eg. going to the gym to loose weight, not just bcause you ought to do it as it is good for you.

CATOGORICAL
What 3 laws did kant devise within catogorical imperativeas, used to make moral decisions?
universal law
kingdon of ends
humanity formular
what is the idea of the universal law?
this concernes with the idea that an action must be universally applicable in order for it to be accepted as the right moral decisions.
what is the idea of the kingdom of ends?
this is the idea that you must assume that everyone is following the same moral law and preserving the same moral good. Everyone is an end and not a means.
what is the idea of the humanity formular?
this is the idea tgar humans should not be used as a ‘tool’ or object for personal gain or end.
what is an example of the three laws within catogorical imperatives in application?
shalifa Ahamed- wrong as universal law says that muderer is wrong, their action can not be made universal and therefore cannot be accepted within society. Also shame is different within different cultures and places, they used their duaghters death to reclaim their honor which contradictes virtues so therefore they would not reach the kingdom of ends and acheive sunnom bunnom.
