What are General duties of employers to their employees?

Answer 1

1. Provide safe working systems and machinery
2. Eliminate or mitigate any potential hazards in the workplace
3. Provide information, instruction and training.
4. Not allow any one to perform work unless the precautionary measures have
   been taken to render the work safe.
5. Take steps to ensure that the requirements of the Act are complied with, and enforce these measures
6. Ensure work is done under the supervision of a competent person
7. Inform employees of the scope of their authority

What are the general duties of employees at work?

Answer 2

1. take care for the health and safety of himself and of other persons who may be affected by his
   acts
2. Co-operate with his employer or any other person that has been given a duty so that the duty can be performed
3. Carry out any order given to him and obey the health and safety rules.
4. Report any situation that is unsafe or unhealthy to his employer or to the health and safety representative.
5. If he is involved in any incident which may affect his health or which has caused an injury to himself, he must report such an incident to his employer.
