What is Denudation
How the rocks and soils of the Earth’s crust are constantly being worn down by few process and the process is known as denudation.

Weathering is the breakdown of rocks that is exposed to the weather

Erosion is the breakdown and removal of rocks exposed to the weather.
Name an example of mechanical weathering
Freeze thaw action
Where does freeze thaw action occur?
This occurs up in the mountains where it’s above or below the freezing point and a lot of precipitation happens here
How does freeze thaw action work?
Day - The water seas into the cracks in the rocks
Night - Temperature falls down below freezing point and the crack expands by 10%
Over time - This process continues which weakens the rocks and pieces falling off eventually.
What is scree
Scree are the broken down rocks that are gathered at the base of the slope.

What is chemical weathering caused by
Chemical weathering is caused by chemical changes when rock is dissolved or decays.
What two things are mixed which makes up weak carbonic acid.

Limestone contains calcium carbonate

Fish bones, chalk , shells
