memory loss ≠dementia, can progresses faster in AD vs gen pop; possibly the earliest phase in AD; clinically diagnosed
Amnestic MCI
deficits in 1+: memory complex attn, exec function, learning/memory, language, percepetual/motor, social cogn
sfg imparments
diagnosis in clear sensorium
Dementia
hint: Mild (can fx alone) vs Major (can’t live independently)
- occurs 30-60,with family hx with ∆preseniline1/2 or ∆APP
Early Onset AD
hint: mut on chrom 1, 14, 21 (APPgene)
mot common form of dz; devs after age 60 with a combo of contributory factors. Apoprot E4 implicated
Late Onset AD
hint: chrom 19
atrophy atrophy (frontal + parietal + hippo) w/ hydrocephalus exvacuo
AD
hint: most common cause of dementia
