companies finding cheaper labour or social condition in other countries which are often developing countries

Detroit faced major deindustrialisation.
It was faced with the removal of industry - especially heavy and manufacturing industries such as the car industry which was vital to detroit

What does Deindustrialisation cause?
A
- increase in tertiary job sectors and services
- increase in residential land use
- Counter Urbanisation : when people move away from he city to the Country.

Why can economic change lead a city to have a decline in population?
A
- economic problems can cause industries to shut down
- if jobs aren’t easy to get in the city people will migrate
- the city government rely on taxes to make city pleasant for all
- but due to economic problems, tax payments go down leading to city becoming run down leading to increase in crime rates leading to people moving away
