International voyage
International voyage means a sea voyage from a country to which the present convention applies to a port outside such country or conversely.
For this purpose, every territory for the international relations of which the contracting government is responsible or for which the United Nations is administering authority is regarded as a separate country.
New ship
Means a ship the keel of which is laid or which is at the similar stage of construction on or after the date of coming into force of the present convention for each contracting government.
Length
Length means 96% of the total length measured on the waterline 85% of the least moulded depth measured from top of the keel
or the length from fore side of the stem to the axis of rudder stock at the same waterline if that be greater.
In ships designed with rake of keel the waterline on which this length is measured is to be parallel with the design waterline.
Rake of keel
is height the keel raises from the aft perpendicular to the forward perpendicular.
Block coefficient
the block coefficient Cb is given by Cb =V/L.B.d1 V = volume of displacement d1 = 85% of moulded depth B = full breadth
Flush deck ship
A flush deck ship is the one which has no superstructure
