Q

Combining series resistors

A

Resistors are in series if they carry the same current.
Total voltage= V1+V2+V3, V=I(R1+R2+R3).
Total resistance Rtotl= V/I

Q

Combining Parallel resistors

A

Parallel if they have the same voltage.
I= V/ R1= GV
I= V/R, I= GV
Total resistance R= V/I
Conductance: Gtotal= I/V, Gtotal
Combine parallel resistors by adding their conductances.

Q

Combining two resistors in parallel

A

Total resistance is the product of the resistors / sum of resistors.
Rtotal= R1R2/ R1+ R2.
