Q

Define Digital Platforms

A

Digital platforms are intermediaries that enable the direct digital interaction of two or more user sites. They bring supply and demand together in such a way that they can interact, i.e. freely offer or request goods, information, goods, jobs and services (such as Uber, Amazon, Baidu and Airbnb).
The most important asset of these platforms is the collected and analyzed data, which enables the establishment of a deep customer relationship without ever physically interacting with the customer.

Q

Define Community Sourcing

A

Community sourcing implies that a service is provided by an organised group of independent players with the aim of using the knowledge, skills and innovation potential of external persons for a specific objective. The initiator of the community is usually responsible for the control and maintenance of the community, but does not necessarily provide service components himself.
Open source systems (Open Data, Open API, etc.) enable members to freely access necessary information.
