Define Machine Learning
Machine learning covers all techniques that enable algorithms to learn through data. By recognizing patterns in existing databases, systems are able to independently find solutions. Well-known methods of machine learning are artificial neural networks including deep learning.
Machine learning is the starting point for a wide range of applications – from safety systems and robotics to real-time translation. A key area of progress is computer vision, used in face recognition and machine vision.
Define AI as a Service
AI as a service is a way to integrate artificial intelligence cost-effectively and scalably into applications, products, services and big data analytics. At present, obtaining the technology via the cloud as a service (e.g. via Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and IBM Cloud) is gaining popularity.
AI as a service will make it easier for enterprises and developers to take advantage of machine learning and improve data processing without having to hire a highly skilled AI developer.
Define Predictive Services
Apps and services are emerging that anticipate future events and user needs. The predictive intelligence of these services can be used for the early detection of user requests and natural disasters, as well as for predicting accident situations and maintenance intervals.
Predictive services are also used in healthcare, sales planning and supply chain management, enabling immediate optimization. Increasing sensor density and quality as well as smart algorithms increase the speed and accuracy of prediction.
Define Cobots
Cobots (collaborative robots) are robots that work together with humans and do not have to be separated from them in the production process by protective devices.
The next level of cobots are cognitive robots that deal with unforeseen situations even in complex environments. They are equipped with a wide range of sensors that allow the cobots to perceive their environment. They are also able to improve their behaviour through learning.
