Management are the set of principles which are related to various functions such as Planning,Organising,Staffing,Directing,Coordinating and Controlling,etc.According to Henry Fayol,βTo manage is to forecast or to plan,to organise,to command and to control.β
Planning
Planning is the basic functions of management.It includes deciding the things to be done in advance.It is an intellectual process of logical thinking and rational decision making.In short,Planning is a detailed process of future courses of actions.
Organising
Organising is the process of identifying,bringing the resources together such as men,materials,money,method etc,grouping and arranging them properly to achieve the objectives.Planning is deciding what is to be done in advance whereas Organising is deciding the ways and means to achieve what is planned.The synchronisation of the workforces,physical,financial.information resources which are established in this process.
Staffing
Staffing is the function of execution according to plan and organisational building.Staffing is the process of attracting,recruiting,selecting,placing,appraising,remunerating and retaining the best workforce.Due to retirement,death,business expansion,promotion,transfer etc. more vacances have been created.In this context,Staffing is important.
