Natural Number
The natural numbers are the following numbers. 1,2,3,4… They are also called the positive integers or the counting numbers.
Whole Number
The whole numbers are the following numbers.
0,1,2,3,4… They include 0 and the natural numbers.
Integers
The integers are the following numbers. -5,-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,5…. They include negative numbers, 0, and positive numbers
Monomial
A monomial is a product of numbers and powers and variables. Example 2x^5y^3
Polynomial
A Polynomial is a sum of monomials. Example: 2x^5y^3 + 3t

The degree of a monomial is the sum of the exponents and its variables. Example The degree of 6y^2z^5 is 7

Standard Form
A general term meaning “written down in the way most commonly accepted”
A polynomial in one variable is in standard form if the exponents on its variable decrease from left to right.
Leading term and leading coefficient:
The leading term of a polynomial is the first term when the polynomial is in standard form.
The leading coefficient of a polynomial is the coefficient of the leading term.
The coefficient of a term is the number multiplying the variable.
(When there is no variable, the coefficient is the term itself.) For our polynomial, the leading term is u^3 , which is equal to 1u^3 . So, the leading coefficient is 1.
What is a prime number and what are the first six prime numbers?
A number that can only be divided by 1 and it’s self is called a prime number. Examples of prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, and 13. The number one is not considered a prime number because one goes into everything.
