definitions Flashcards
organism

multicellular: an organism made up of more than one cell
vertebrate and invertebrate
vertebrate: an animal with a backbone
invertebrate: an animal without a backbone
fungi and bacteria

bacteria: most basic of all unicellular organisms does not have a nucleus
movement and locomotion
movement: when an organism changes shape or figure of all or part of it
locomotion: when an organism moves from one place to another
cellular differentiation
the process by which a cell becomes specialized to perform a specific function
xylem and phloem vessels
xylem: system of tubes in a plant that transports water and minerals from roots to shoots and leaves
phloem: system of tubes in a plant that transports nutrients from leaves to rest of plant
