Define Passivity phenomena
Behaviour of patient is thought to be controlled by external agency rather than individual
What is gustatory hallucination/
A hallucination of taste
Define somatic hallucinations
These are bodily sensations often associated with being touched either by a person, animal or inanimate object
Define 2nd person auditory hallucination
Voices are directly addressing the patient
Define 3rd person auditory hallucinations
Voices are discussing the patient / providing a running commentary on the patient
Define Hallucination
A perception which occurs in the absence of an external stimulus
Define delusional Perception
A fully formed delusion which arises from a real or genuine perception
Define flight of ideas
A rapid flow of thoughts which are expressed through accelerated speech jumping from topics with no connections
Define delusions of grandeur
A delusion that increases one’s self importance - e.g. they think they’re invincible
Delusions of reference
When a patient believes a neutral event has some important meaning or significance e.g. radio has a message for them
Define delusions of persecution
This is a collection of delusions in which the patient believes either that harm is occurring or will occur to them
