the process of planning to avoid a disaster
e.g. western Australian government are developing plans for the future water supply of perth
Adaptations
putting in place actions to deal with a situation
e.g. water restrictions to cut back on amount of water used due to reduced water supplies
Sustainability
the management of resources or features to allow for their use in the present, while protecting it for the future also
e.g. water restrictions in Perth during summer
Movement
change in locations of things across earth’s surface
e.g. as Perth’s population grows the city spreads outwards into the rural hinterland changing the land use in the area and creating urban sprawl
Landscape
product of the interaction of land forms with people
e.g. settlements, farms, transport

anything that can be used
e.g. fresh water and oil
