Increased number of people living in a prescribed area.
What is urban decay?
The deterioration of the built environment; urban infrastructure falls into a state of disrepair and buildings are left empty for long periods of time.
What is urban renewal?
The process in which an unused area of urban land such as an industrial site is restored, redeveloped and improved.
What is a metropolis?
A very large and busy city.
What is a push factor in migration?
Something that pushes or forces an individual to leave their home and live in another place.

What is a pull factor in migration?
Something that pulls or entices an individual to live in another place.

How fast the population is growing per year.
Define birth rate.
Live number of births each year per 1000 people.
What is the fertility rate?
The expected amount of children born to a woman.
What does life expectancy refer to?
The expected amount of years a person is to live.
What is population density?
Amount of people per square kilometre.
What is natural increase in population?
If the birth rate in a city is higher than the death rate.
