Mentorship
This is a relationship where a more experienced or knowledgable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person. It has mutual benefits and is used to help a person achieve their goals
Peer Mentoring
Aims to enhance supportive relationships between two people,sharing knowledge and experience and providing an opportunity to learn from different perspectives
Traditional one-on-one mentoring
A mentee and mentor are matched wither through a program or on their own. They participate in a mentoring relationship with structure and timeframe of their making as it’s established by a formal mentoring program
Distance mentoring
Is a mentoring relationship where the two partied are in different locations. Also known as “virtual mentoring”
Group Mentoring
A single mentor with a cohort of mentees. Initial program structure is provided while allowing mentor to direct progress, pace and activities
Coaching
Is a teaching, training or developmental process via which an individual is supported while achieving a specific personal or professional result or goal
Coachee/Client
This is the individual receiving coaching
Peer Counselling
Is an interactive relationship between age groups to influence positive change. A process where peers,e.g, Colleagues, discuss their issues amicable without engaging in reprehensible behaviour and consequently, improving their academics
