what is emphasis

A

Emphasis is making something stand out, giving prominence to syllables or words. It is used to make the meaning of a passage clearer, to help convey the mood, and prevent monotony. We emphasise through volume, pitch, pace, pause, nonverbals including gestures, facial expressions, and onomatopoeia

Q

why is it important to use these techniques

A

It is important to use these techniques when reading and storytelling to ensure that my performance is believable stop stressing emphasis on certain words stop some not needing the peace, therefore making it more believable as though it is spontaneous and not a script or learned piece.
