ethics actually applied to medicine –> combined thinking of multiple disciplines
helps doctors make decisions for what is best for the patient given certain situations

federal insruance program that helps pay for peoples health insurance when they are 65+, permanently disable workers and dependents, and people with end stage renal diseases

healthcare plans that offer a range of services for fixed fees –> limitation on services that will be covered for given amount of time
Preferred Provider Organization
networks of physicians and hospitals that agree to give discounts to people that enroll in their services and agree to follow their regulations
Hospices
provide services and palliative care for terminally ill and patients at the end of their life
Nursing Home
provides nursing and other rehabilitation services; mainly incapacitated elderly but also young adults with significant physical or mental health
Cerebrum
upper brain cortex for thinking and mental consciousness
Brain stem
lower brain; respiratory, swallowing, sleeping and waking
