ALL OF THE 4DS ARE PRONE TO BEING** BIAS** FROM THE CLINICIANS
- Can’t obejectively define the 4D’s
- The behaviour + symptoms are likely to be interpreted subjectively due to clinicals psychologist norms and values being different and having different personal experiences within their field
- Example is maori society in New Zealand where hearing voices is usual and respected but can be considered a symptom in Western society/cultures
- This makes it unreliable
- Can lead to labbeling individuals e.g. dysfuntion/deviant behaviour due to it being unusual for society
- this isn’t harmful so it doesn’t need to be controlled and treated
- lead to negative impact on people’s quality of life
