Generally defined as the sum of an individual’s way of life, ranging from the food he or she eats, the clothes he or she wears, and the house where he or she lives
Culture
The norms and values as well as intangible aspects of his or her existence
Non material things
Are all part of the culture that are tangible
Material things
An organized group or groups of interdependent people who share common territory, language, and culture, who act together for collective survival and well-being
Society
Refers to the “Theory, Art, and practice of government”
Politics
A relatively stable cluster of statuses general norms and behavior, which are involved in the acquisitions and exercise of power and decision making in society
Political Institution
A concrete example of political institution it exercises power especially in relation to governance and decision making
Government
A status granted to individuals or institutions to properly run the government and implement the rule of the law in society
Power
The socially constructed characteristics of being a male or female. It refers to society’s division of humanity into two distinctive categories based on sex.
Gender
Chiefly centers on biological differences, you’re a female
if you have an ovary and a male if you have a scrotum.
Sex
Refers to the category of persons who have more or less the
same socioeconomic privileges in a society.
Socioeconomic Status
In the Philippines, three types of social classes are identified?
Upper Classes
Middle Classes
Lower Classes
Consist of elite families
Upper Classes
Composed of small business and industry operators mostly owners and managers, professionals, office
workers, and farms owners with income sufficient enough to
provide a comfortable and decent living.
Middle Classes
Farm employees, skilled and unskilled artisans, service
workers, and people who may be unemployed or underemployed or those who belong to indigent families or informal sectors
