Deep extensors Flashcards
Origin and attachment of supinator
Origin: Superficial part- lateral epicondyle. Deep part- proximal lateral ulna
Attachment: lateral radius
Nerve to supinator
posterior interosseous nerve C6,7
Function of supinator
supination
Origin and attachment of abductor pollicis longus
Origin: posterior ulna and radius around 1/2 way down and interosseous membrane
Attachment: base of 1st metacarpal
Nerve to abductor pollicis brevis
posterior interosseous nerve C7,8
Function of abductor pollicis longus
abduct thumb
Origin and attachment of extensor pollicis brevis
Origin: posterior surface of radius, inferior to abductor pollicis longus and adjacent interosseous membrane
Attachment: base of 1st proximal phalanx
Origin and attachment of extensor pollicis longus
Origin: posterior surface of ulna, inferior to abductor pollicis longus and adjacent interosseous membrane
Attachment: base of 1st distal phalanx
Origin and attachment of extensor indices
Origin: posterior surface of ulna, inferior to extensor pollicis longus and adjacent interosseous membrane
Attachment: extensor hood of index finger
Nerve to extensor pollicus longus & brevis
posterior interosseous nerve C7,8
Nerve to extensor indices
posterior interosseous nerve C7,8
