Biliary Atresia (Kasai procedure)
a rare liver condition in infants characterized by blocked bile ducts, leading to liver damage, and requiring early surgical intervention or potentially a liver transplant.
Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis
a condition in infants where the muscle of the pylorus (the passage from the stomach to the small intestine) thickens, causing severe vomiting (projectile) and requiring surgical intervention to correct the obstruction.
Nephrotic syndrome
a kidney disorder characterized by high levels of protein in the urine, low levels of protein in the blood, swelling (edema), and high cholesterol, often requiring medication and dietary changes to manage.
Acute post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis
kidney inflammation that occurs after an infection with certain strains of streptococcus bacteria, leading to symptoms such as blood in the urine, swelling, and high blood pressure, typically managed with supportive care and monitoring.

Croup (laryngotracheobronchitis)
Inflammation of the larynx, trachea and bronchi. respiratory condition in young children caused by viral infection, leading to a distinctive barking cough, hoarseness, and stridor (a high-pitched wheezing sound), often treated with humidified air, corticosteroids, and, in severe cases, nebulized epinephrine.
Epiglottitis
Inflammation and swelling of the epiglottis. (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO VISUALIZE THROAT-may cause spasm and occlude the airway)
Bronchitis
Acute inflammatory process of the bronchioles and small bronchi.
