Reductionism is where behaviour is broken down into its constituent parts and analysed on the relative contribution that factor makes.
Holism is where you consider how different factors at each level contribute to behaviour.

Individual explanations believe that behaviour is determined by characteristics such as personality, IQ, thinking patterns or hormonal levels.
Situational explanations suggest that behaviour is determined by factors that are external to an individuals characteristics or past experiences and behaviours
