How to identify aggressive emotional responses and behavior?
A
- Identify Aggression
- Non verbal: clenched fist, frowns and scowls
- Verbal: tone and content of speech - Asses possible causes of aggression:
- masking emotions: sadness, anger, fear, happiness
- Unhealthy defenses: projection of emotions
- personality traits: natural aggressive tendencies
- role of the healthcare worker: unresponsive or uninterested doctors may aggravate the patient
- external factors: these are factors that can block the openness of the patient. These include how the patient was treated, the waiting period, interruptions etc.
