Q

How does a DDOS attack happen?

A
  • An attacker connects to machines affected by bots
  • Once all the bots are working together we have a botnet.
  • The attacker causes the bots to direct a stream of network traffic at a targeted site
  • The site cannot cope with all the data and goes very slow and eventually shuts down, so no one can access it, they usually target confidential or large businesses.
