DB_Chapter 7 Sequence 4 Flashcards
The new employee is tasked with putting in a new IP in the DHCP Table. For some reason the table is not accepting the IP provided. You take a look at the list. You see: 2001.0bd5.34cd.0012.0000.0000.1245.5d65. What is wrong with this IP? pg 218
Needs to use colon’s, not decimals between fields
Two employees are having an argument about IPV6 addresses. One guy is saying that you can shorten an IP address by replacing 0000 with ::, but only once. The other guy says its easier to just use a 0 in between colons. You want to trump both of their arguments, how would you do this? pg 219
Combine both of their arguments would be the shortest way to write an IP address. For Example:2001:0000:0000:0012:0000:0000:1234:56ab would be:2001::12:0:0:1234:56ab
I am an IPV6 address. I am not meant to be routed. I could be used to put together a temporary LAN for file sharing or for gaming. I am just like APIPA addresses in IPV4. What kind of IPV6 address am I? pg 220
Link Local Address
I am an IPV6 address that some call me “one to many addresses”. I always start with an FF. What kind of IPv6 am I? pg 220
Multicast
T or F, loopback for IPv6 is ::1. Pg 221
True.
Your boss wants you to create an IP address that could be used in a mixed environment. He gives you the IPv4 address of 192.168.10.11. How would you write this IP in a mixed environment for IPv6? Pg 221
0:0:0:0:0:0:192.168.10.11
Here is an example of an IPv6:2001:0bd6:34fd:0113:0000:0000:4352:32ab. What is the Global Prefix? What is the Subnet? What is the Interface ID?
Global Prefix: 2001:0bd6:34fdSubnet: 0113Interface ID: 0000:0000:4352:32ab
