What type of break tests do we do?
-Personal Brake Test

When do we carry out a running break test?
-First Opportunity after leaving a terminal station or starting point
-Following any brake isolation cock or traction cut out switch that’s been operated
-Any time the driver deems necessary
When do we carry out a personal break test?
-Before a unit or train is moved after being ‘cut in’ (Aux on)
-Before a unit or train leaves a berthing point or depot
-When taking over a train in the absence of a previous driver
-After an attachment or detachment is made
-After a brake defect or irregularity has been rectified/isolated
-After an isolation cock or safety system has been isolated
