Data management #9 Flashcards
what is user access levels
a method used that allows certain users to read and/or write access to data on a computer system. Defines which users can change and view, view but not change, or not view stored data.
what is encryption
conversion of data, using an algorithm, into a form called cyphertext, that cannot be easily understood by people without the decryption key
when data is encrypted, a logical operator is sometimes used, called the XOR logical operator.
what is XOR
the XOR logical operator has two inputs, and out output. The output is 1 only if A and B are different.
Name some ways for network security?
- User access levels
- Suitable passwords
Whats with the suitable password thing
Well apparently its to do with idk a really well made password
bro its just so self explanatory like man wing it
What is lossless compression?
Data compressed/decompressed that can’t lose data
Exact original file or summin
What is lossy compression?
Data compressed/decompressed that can lose data
Aim to reduce amount of data to be stored
Remember bout that ratio thing withg the compression
Whatever
Ways of saving lost data
Backups
not explaing backups u gon have to wing it
Whatever
If worst comes worst, theres this word called archiving
Whatever?
