A
- Touch at all times needs to be appropriate
- always ask
- always have to protect your reputation
- keep doors open
- rules apply for opposite sex, and same sex

PURPOSE
A
- Purpose of counselling is to have the clients needs met
- can become twisted as time passes, continually keep this purpose in check

OVER-INVOLVEMENT
A
- Be careful of too many emotional dependencies (you to client, or client to you)
- it may lead you to not being able to address the hard issues of the clients life

BURNOUT
A
- Physical, emotional, spiritual exhaustion of the individual
- begins when we don’t take care of ourselves
- comes from the extensiveness of our responsibilites
- we cannot do everything
- high stress levels for a long period of time will lead to burnout

NOT MAINTAINING A VITAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

-Can become easy to become self-sufficient

COUNTER-TRANSFERENCE ISSUES

-If these issues are present and not dealt with in the counselling relationship, this can cause harm

DOING TOO MUCH WORK FOR THE CLIENT
A
- We are to bare one another’s burdens, however we are not in the clients life, to run their life
- each person is responsible for their own actions
- if you do too much for the client, they will run to you instead of God
