A single story of catastrophe
Implies Africa as synonymous with “catastrophe”. Harsh extreme adjective, connotes disaster
Empower and humanise
Create idea that stories are used to influence and inspire others . “ empower” connotes entitlement and authority, suggesting stories can create new perspectives and ideas.
Mental shift
Discovering African literature had on her mental perspective. She had been able to reduce her ignorance. Metaphor. Motivates others to broaden perspectives.
We regain a kind of paradise
Provides contrast to title as danger and paradise juxtapose one another. Suggest stories are escape to Tranquility and eedenic place
