Frame
Clamp
Clamp forceps
Floss
Additional retainers
Possibly sealants for leakage
What is the procedure for the anterior teeth?
Stretch the dam over the frame, make sure it doesn’t go over the opening the frame
The frame should rest adjacent to the chin
Punch six holes in the dam corresponding to the anterior 6 teeth
Make sure holes are not too big, and chose a larger setting for the incisors
Do not punch them too close together
Ease the holes through the teeth
Use floss in between the space to ensure the dam is between the teeth
Tie floss around tooth you are working on, with a double knot
What PPE MUST be worn?
Always glasses even in pre-clinical
What dental equipment currently contains latex?
Wedjets cord
Why is a clamp used?
To secure teeth adjacent
What is used to secure the dam in the adjacent teeth? (Two things)
Wedjet cord for the first tooth in the dam
Floss ligature for adjacent teeth
What bur and handpiece is used to remove an existing restoration?
Fast handpiece with the fissure bur (flat ended)
What are the uses and benefits of dental dam?
Airway protection
Field isolation
Increased access
Aerosol reduction
Improved vision
