MECHANISM OF ACTION:
*Synthetic adrenal corticosteroids that”
—suppress immune response
—restores normal capillary permeability
—inhibits the formation, storage, release of histamine from mast cells

*Anti-inflammatory effect in management of:
—allergic reactions and anaphylactic shock
—sometimes used for swelling in spinal cord injury management
