What is Phishing?
Sends an email appearing to be a trusted source requesting for security information and personal information using them to steal funds
What is Pharming?
Targets an organisation’s website by redirecting visitors to a bogus website to collect data to commit fraud.
What is hacking?
Uses software to gain unauthorised access to an organisations computer and take control allowing them to view records and delete info.
What is distributed denial of service attack (DDoS)?
Dirupts an organisation preventing people from accessing their website. Aim is to overwhelm the website with internet traffic so the system can’t handle it and cause it to crash.
What is a webcam manager?
The attacker uses software to take control of the users webcam
What is a file hijacker/ransomware?
Gains access to users system to hijack files and hold them to ransom
What is keylogging?
The cyber attacker plants software onto the users computer to record what they user types into their keyboard. Can learn passwords and gain access to confidential info.
What is a screenshot manager?
The cyber attacker obtains info by installing software onto the users computers to screenshot the computer. Used to steal information and funds.
What is an ad clicker?
The cyber attacker directs the victim to a bogus website by encrouaging them to click on a link in an online advertisement.
