initial management of ischaemic stroke
doses in:
TIA
ischaemic
aspirin
TIA: 300mg OD until diagnosis established
Ischaemic stroke: 300mg OD for 14 days following Alteplase
for ischaemic stroke, alteplase given firts, admin within X
4.5 hrs
Long-term Management of ischaemic
1st and 2nd line
1st: clopidogrel 75mg OD
2nd: aspirin
for which pts should PPI be considered
history of dyspepsia assoc w aspirin/
concurrent use w dual antiplatelets
reduce risk of GI haemorrhage
what should be started 48 hrs after stroke
high intensity statin
manage htn to acheive what BP? (no beta blockers)
<130/80
why no beta blockers to manage htn in stroke
thye lower HR and BP thus lowering level of blood getting to brain
