QRISK 2 calculator: used to calculate the 10year CVD risk of patients <84 years

• Patients with a score of 10% or more should be offered primary prevention
• Patients with a score less than 10% may benefit from lifestyle interventions and if necessary drug therapy
• CVD may underestimate risk in patients with additional risk due to existing medical conditions such as diabetes, CKD
