A

The hair is picked up and placed between first 2 fingers and cut straight across. 6-7 sections.
Only go 2 fingers at a time. Don’t go past knuckles

These are used to do 2 things.

  1. Remove weight - mid texture
  2. Blend cutting lines - end texture

Result - soft, textured

Graduation layering

A

The hair is shorter at the bottom and gets longer towards the Crestline.

Only back and sides.

E.g - fade

A

All the hair is cut and falls to the same line. E.g - A Bob haircut
A one length haircut.

Increase layer

A

Shortest at the crown and sections increase in length towards the neck.

E.g - mullet

Describe what tapering is?

A

This is when you blend the hair with no lines.
It is done by scissors and clippers. (Clippers is a much shorter effect)

Tapered necklines have soft graduated outlines that follow the natural neckline.

Fading is much closer/shorter
