Q

How would you explain the purpose of a Cutaneous Reflex test to a patient?

A

You have reflexes in your body that are controlled by specific nerves. By testing these reflexes on specific parts of your body, I can assess these specific nerves and systems. I want you to try and relax as much as possible for me. Okay?

Q

Q

What is an Abnormal Hoffman Test?

A

In the presence of an UMN lesion, the patient’s index finger and thumb will move briefly into opposition (positive test)

18
Q

How is the Hoffman Reflex recorded?
