Current, potential difference and resistance Flashcards
Easy - SavemyExam
What is convential current?
What its charge?
Answer: Convection current is when hot stuff rises, cool stuff sinks, and they keep switching places, creating a loop.
its the percieved movement of a postive charge [1]
State the steps that is useed to show the inevstigation of resistance[5]
Connect the wire from the main circuit to the thin resistance wire at 0 cm
Connect the wire to the main circuit to the thin resistance wire at 10 cm
Record the potential difference and current.
Move the crocodile clip from 10 cm to 20cm on the thin resistance wire.
Repeat the readings of potential differnece and current
Repeat at 30 cm and again at 40 cm on the resistance wire.
Name the independant and dependant variables in this investigation[2]
The independant variable is the length of the wire.[1]
The dependant variable is the resistance. [1]
Name two exmaples of resistors whose resistance can vary are;
Thermistor
Variable resistor
LDR [ light dependant resistance]
Feynam techinque;
Thermistor (Temperature Sensor)
When it gets hot, the thermistor’s resistance goes down (it’s easier for electricity to flow).
When it’s cold, the resistance goes up (harder for electricity to move).
LDR (Light Sensor)
When there’s lots of light, its resistance gets lower (electricity flows more easily).
When it’s dark, the resistance gets higher (like a blocked path for electricity).
