Current Electricity Flashcards
1
Q
What is Potential gradient
A
Potential gradient (K) is defined as potential difference per length of the wire.
Volt/meter
2
Q
What affects the Potential gradient?
A
Potential gradient depends upon
1) length of the wire
2) And the potential difference across the wire.
3
Q
State advantage and disadvantage of potentiometer over the voltmeter
A
Advantages
1) It gives more accurate emf of the cell
2) Potentiometer measures the accurate potential difference then voltmeter
Demerits
1) Potentiometer is non portable
2) Potentiometer doesn’t give direct readings
