Current Electricity Flashcards
Ohm’s law
Give relationship bw voltage (V) and current (I)
I = KV
Where ‘K’ is called coductance of conductor and its unit is of siemen & it is reciprocal of resistance
I = 1/R × V
V=IR => OHM’S LAW
Where ‘R’ is called resistance of conductor
Ohm’s law graph
- its graph is plotted b/w current and voltage and it is a straight line
- the slope of ohm’s law gives conductance
- the reciprocal of slope gives resistance
Resistance
When e- are moving in conductor these collide with atom and experience a resistance this is known as resistance.
The ratio of voltage and current is called resistivity.
R=V/I =>Volt/ Ampere =>ohm (sign)
1 ohm
The resistance of a conductor is said to be 1 ohm if 1A current is flowing in it at p.d of 1 volt
- (Kilo) K (ohm sign) = 10^ 3
- (mega) M (ohm sign) = 10^6
- (giga) G ( ohm sign) = 10^9
