Ace of Cups
Upright: Having love to offer. able to love. fulfillment. gratification. pleasure.
Reversed: no love to offer. empty inside. not fulfilled. not gratified.
Two of Cups
Upright: two people in love. love shared. a meeting of the minds and hearts.
Reversed: two people not in love. two people no longer in love.
Three of Cups
Upright: friends. emotional support from friends. nurturing friends. social life. partying. networking
Reversed: no friends. no emotional support from friends. not enough social life. needing some fun. needing to network
Four of Cups
Upright: being tempted by something or somebody. considering an offer.
Tip: the offer can be about love or your job. keep adding cards until you know which it is.
Reversed: accepting an offer. succumbing to temptation.
Tip: add cards until you know which one it is.
Five of Cups
Upright: regret. living in the past.
Reversed: no longer regretful. no longer living in the past. ready to look ahead.
Six of Cups
Upright: early childhood. siblings. people you’ve known since childhood.
Tip: can often refer to a family member. not usually your husband or child.
Reversed: a child not loved by a mother the way they needed to be. not a nurturing, happy childhood.
Seven of Cups
Upright: day to day dreams, dreaming of…
Reversed: making your dreams come true
Eight of Cups
Upright: in denial
Reversed: been there, done that, now I know better. coming back to life after learning something.
Nine of Cups
Upright: joy. elation. fulfillment. gladness. you get your wish. your cup runneth over.
Tip: this is traditionally known as ‘the wish’ card. If it’s the last card in a spread, it’s very good.
Reversed: No joy, not happy. you don’t get your wish.
Ten of Cups
Upright: a happy, love-filled marriage
Reversed: not a happy, love-filled marriage, unhappy marriage, the love in the marriage is gone
Page of Cups
Upright: an adult who has been healed through therapy. a sweet child. a water sign child (pisces, cancer, scorpio). an artistic child. a dreamer child.
Tip: look at other cards in the spread to determine if the child is now an adult.
Reversed: a child or adult not loved in childhood by mother the way they needed. emotional needs not met by mother. emotionally wounded child that has not healed as an adult.
Knight of Cups
Upright: contemplation
Tip: add cards until you know what is being contemplated
Reversed: seduction or a seducer (never good and not always sexual)
Queen of Cups
Upright: a woman who values herself. a woman who does not sell herself short. a woman who loves herself and will not settle.
Reversed: a woman who sells herself short. a woman who does not love herself and is in need of therapy. a woman who settles for men who don’t love her.
King of Cups
Upright: an emotionally healthy man. a man who knows how to love. a man who can feel love.
Reversed: a man who can’t love. a man who can’t fulfill a woman’s needs. a selfish man.
