What was meads study about ?
A
- This study was done at the start of the 20th century
- The study compared the tribes to the US society
- The arapesh tribe showed both genders to be very calm and gentle
- The Mundugmor tribe showed both genders to be agressive
- The tchambuli tribe had opposite gender roles in comparison to the US. The women were aggressive and dint do any of the childcare and the men were emotional and sensitive.

-He studied the distinction between high and popular culture. - He found that how worthy they are is decided by the high culture people.
- Often appreciated by the upper class so called high culture

A
High culture is breaking down because the media is giving everybody access to these activities for example plays are being turned into movies.

- He researched identical twins who were separated at birth
- One child was brought up in Germany as part of the hitler youth.
- The other chid was brought up in the Caribbean as jewish
- It was found that when they were re-united there was still a lot of similarities between them and interests as well
- This argument is in favour of the nature debate.

- Genie was locked in a room with no social interaction until she was 13,
- Her father didn’t speak to her, teacher her the basic skills of walking or talking.
- For the rest of her life she has never been able to function like a normal person and has lived in care for the rest of her adult life.
