What is culture?
A culture is created through the combination of the norms and values of a specific group.
What is a norm?
A norm is an expectation in society that is taught during primary socialisation due to its importance, allows that specific culture to function.
What is a value?
A value may be a belief or idea that is taught during primary socialisation due to its importance, tending to be things people strive to achieve.
What things may vary between cultures?
1) Morals
2) Religion
3) Fashions
4) Traditions

What are the 4 types of culture in societies?
High, popular, consumer and global
What is meant by ‘high culture’?
Superior activities enjoyed by those of a high class status so are not widely available.
What is meant by ‘popular culture’?
Activities enjoyed by the majority of the population so are well-known.
What is meant by ‘consumer culture’?
The action of continuously buying products that you desire as spending money is the norm.
What is meant by ‘global culture’?
Refers to growing trends that allow certain products and activities to become universally known. AKA Globalisation.
