define culture bias?

A

when the ‘norm’ for a particular behaviour is judged only from the standpoint of one particular culture, and any cultural differences that deviate from this behaviour will be viewed as abnormal.

if you can recognise it, it can be changed to prevent it, Smith and Bond found in 1988 survey, 66% American studies, 32% European and 2% rest in textbooks. Severely unrepresentative and greatly improved by researching other groups.

Nobles (1976) argues that western psychology has been a tool of oppression and dominance. Cultural bias has also made it difficult for psychologists to separate the behavior they have observed from the context in which they observed it.
